EUGENE & JEANN JOY

A PATH TO DESTINY

By: Mylene Campos

“Being deeply loved by someone gives you strength while loving someone deeply gives you courage.” –Lao Tzu

Love knows no boundaries. It’s a love that cannot be tainted. For Eugene and Jeann, love is an unconditional sacrifice.

The two met back in 2011 while working in a distributor company. Jeann was hired as an Accounting staff while Eugene worked as a Salesman. They were introduced to each other by colleagues and eventually became friends. They had a great connection as pals. She would even tease him ‘tambok’ while he would call her ‘Law-ai or gurl’.

THE COUPLE | The two started traveling more together for work (outings, seminars, etc.) after getting promoted. Being consistently happy in the company of each other made them realize that something great was happening. And they soon discovered that they were already developing a mutual understanding for one another. However, as office rules would dictate, relationships between co-workers weren’t allowed. But with Eugene’s deep love for Jeann, he decided to leave the company so that they could continue their love story

The couple was in a relationship for five years before tying the knot. Eugene fell for Jeann for her simple yet appealing beauty. “She faithfully takes good care of me, and accepts my good and bad characteristics,” he shared. The bride, on the other hand, found her groom to have one of the purest hearts. “He gives me so much affection. I feel like my true self when I’m with him. He may seem childish in many ways, but I find him cute when he cuddles me,” she shared.

But their love story was not spared from tons of ups and downs. They have disagreed and quarreled with each other a million times. But they’ve always made it a point to settle any arguments or disagreements before welcoming a new day.

THE PROPOSAL | Eugene proposed to Jeann over dinner at L’Fisher Chalet, on their third anniversary. She was caught by surprise as soon as she saw her boyfriend by the poolside, holding a bouquet of flowers.

WEDDING PREPARATIONS | The couple both liked blue and chose it as their main wedding color, as it symbolized truth, loyalty, and faith. They also combined it with touches of gold, as it symbolized love, compassion, and wealth. The bride shared, “we had a tough time figuring out what two shades to use. But with the help of our parents and family members, we found the ones that perfectly reflected us.”

The bride and groom are thankful that they didn’t experience any hardships during their preps. They owe it to their parents, family, close friends and relatives for supporting and guiding them throughout the process. They are grateful, beyond measure, for everyone who was there to help them achieve the wedding of their dreams. “We can say that if it’s meant to happen, it will, and at the right time and for the right reasons. Our special day wouldn’t have been fulfilled and possible without them.” Jeann shared.

THE WEDDING ENTOURAGE | Eugene and Jeann made sure that they had families, close friends, and relatives to march down the aisle with them. They also chose a few couples who they looked up to for inspiration, to stand witness as their candle, veil and cord sponsors.

A WALK TO REMEMBER | For the couple, the most memorable part of the wedding was walking down the church aisle. As they took each step, it made them realize that this was the path towards their destiny. The bride and groom couldn’t be any happier than to share their lives with each other forever.

WEDDING ADVISE | The married couple recommends soon-to-wed brides and grooms to try and get into some DIY preparations. The bride shared, “this will help you cut on costs. Besides, it’s better to have a personal touch on things to express yourself more rather than buy ready-made stuff. ” They also suggest to read up on wedding blogs and to browse social media platforms like Pinterest to help draw inspirations and ideas for the big day. Jeann added, “make the time to canvass for noteworthy suppliers and book them as early as possible. Also, stick to your budget. Lastly, listen to each other’s opinions. The groom and bride shouldn’t forget to enjoy and have fun while planning their nuptials together.”

GROOMS VOWS | “Jeann, today we begin our lives together. I promise before our families and our friends to be your faithful husband. I choose to live with you, as your lover, companion, and friend. I will love you when life is peaceful and when it is painful. I will love you during our successes and during our failures. I will support your strengths and accept your weaknesses. I will honor your goals and dreams, and will always try to encourage your fulfillment. I will strive to be honest and open with you by sharing my thoughts and my life with you. I promise to love and cherish you from this day forward.”

BRIDES VOWS | “Eugene, I cannot promise that I will always be the perfect wife. But I promise to love you through the good and bad times. I will choose our love every single day. I promise to always fight with you and for you, and never against you. I promise to always be your biggest fan, confidant and your best friend. I promise to remember that we are not perfect, but only perfect for each other. I promise to love you without hesitation or boundaries from this day forward, for the rest of my life.”

A MESSAGE TO SUPPLIERS | The couple would like to express their gratitude to their suppliers who went above and beyond the call of duty. “They did their best not just for business’ sake. So from the bottom of our hearts, thank you so much for being with us and for taking part on our special day.”
