MARIELLE JOY TUBIG
A DEBUTANTE’S HOPES & DREAMS
By'; Mylene Campos
There is not a care in the world when you’re a kid. Even the simple pleasures of letting a child’s imagination run wild strikes a sense of peace and comfort. There are no substantial responsibilities to deal with and no complex problems to solve yet. And Marielle agrees to this, as she was a curious teenager before she turned 18. She said, “I wanted to know what it felt like to be 18. I wanted to know how different it was from the things that I’ve always known it for, and what I would face when I finally reached that age.”
But not much has changed since her transition from adolescence to adulthood. “I just figured out that nothing changes except for the added obligations, and that 18 is just a figure (age is but a number). My character and sense of style stayed pretty much the same. But I do look forward to having more freedom and independence, and to be accepting of more responsibilities too”, she added.
TREASURED FOREVER | Marielle’s debut was a once in a lifetime experience, one that she will treasure forever. She prepared for it by attending a lot of meetings and by doing a lot of research. And the result of that commitment created one of the most unforgettable nights of her life. She even recalled her grand entrance as one of her favorite moments, and her guests, as one of her favorite gifts. Her closest family and friends truly made a regular event into a memorable one.
OF HOPES & DREAMS | “I hope that my parents will let me be independent and let me discover things on my own. I know that mistakes are part of growing up. But I hope they won't cut my wings and not allow their past faults to determine my present and future. I am a different person in a different generation, so I hope they will let me learn things my way.”
A young woman who dreams of being successful someday lives on the advice of taking life slowly and not rushing into things at once. She even pictured herself (10 years from now), as she envisioned a bright future ahead. “I want my family to live in Las Piñas, to have a medium-sized house, and to have my own business with my husband. I also want my life to be comfortable enough to not worry about expenses”, she shared. A woman should be able to go big or go home, right? Surely, Marielle is destined for greatness.
