KIM AND RUBIE

London Bridge of Love: How a Sliding Door of Fate Led Kim and Rubie Find Each Other

By: Marky Ramone Go

Unbeknownst to them, love was in the air when Kim and Rubie traveled to London on the same flight to work as nurses. Chance encounter? It wasn’t as both would eventually find themselves working in the same hospital and almost in the same ward. As days turns into months, the series of meeting each other in the busy hallways of their workplace, a friendship was formed.

From that moment on, their connection only deepened as they embarked on a new journey together. The shared passion for caring for others brought them closer, and they soon found themselves walking down the hospital corridors hand in hand.

 Operation Romance

As they begin to see one other frequently in the hospital working in the OR, or what is known as Operating Theatres in the UK, Kim and Rubie are also beginning their theater of love as they discover similar things: culinary taste, fashion sense, and sense of humor.

Rubie's heart beats faster at the thought of Kim’s caring personality, strong sense of responsibility, and his kind treatment of others. Kim was drawn to Rubie’s radiant energy and her innate ability to uplift those around her with positivity.

In a whirlwind of passion, their friendship was quickly transformed into a budding romance. Cupid's arrow struck fast and true, bringing these two together in an instant.

He Said, She Said

Rubie's unwavering love and care captured Kim’s heart, effortlessly confirming that she was the one destined to be by his side forever. They quickly discovered a multitude of shared interests, strengthening the bond of their souls. A random love can be easily found, but the alignment of values, aspirations, and the vision of a shared future is a rare treasure — in the sea of romantic prospects. Kim knew, without a doubt, that his future lay with Rubie, and together they envisioned a life of love, happiness, and building a family filled with cherished memories.

Little did Kim know that when he finally starts saying Rubie is the one, Rubie is also saying the same thing. In a nutshell, the time has come when he said, “she’s the one”, and she said, “he’s the one”

 Walking Down the Aisle Castle

Despite the challenges posed by the Covid pandemic, Kim and Rubie's love persevered. Though their plans for a Grand Canyon proposal were thwarted by travel restrictions in 2020, the couple still found a way to become engaged to one another.

As the pandemic constraints began to ease, the couple eagerly began to plan their wedding. As they were already established in London, they made the decision to exchange vows in the United Kingdom.

With a nod to the changing seasons, the couple embraced an autumn and winter theme for their wedding, accented by rich, earthy tones. The couple stepped up their wedding preparation game by choosing a venue fit for royalty, a castle.

The 17-the century Rowton Castle in Shrewsbury proved to be a romantic wedding setting for our couple. Surrounded by 17 acres of garden teeming with orange leaves and a charming interior consisted of withering brown bricks, the castle fits what Kim and Rubie envisioned their big day to be.

Despite a somber weather forecast, the morning of the wedding turned out to be sunny as a perfect autumn day. The outdoor ceremony was arranged with a scarlet-hued carpet, transparent chairs that sparkled like diamonds, and the registrar's table nestled beneath a charming gazebo adorned with pillars reminiscent of ancient Greece. Fresh flowers in vases and blocks adorned each side of the pillars, while rose petals were generously scattered on the carpet. The string quartet was situated on the platform next to the guests.

As the entourage stood inside the castle, getting ready for their walk, the dulcet strains of a string quartet filled the air as the soon to be newlywed eagerly awaited the commencement of the entourage's grand procession. It was a moment of enchantment for everyone, to have those the couple cherish and hold dear bear witness to their union as husband and wife.

Tears of joy welled up in Rubie's eyes as she surveyed the gathering, feeling an overwhelming sense of happiness. Love and excitement permeated the air as their wedding day unfolded, enveloped by cherished friends and family who had journeyed from the Philippines, Dubai, Canada, Germany, and the USA to partake in their joyous celebration. The magic of the event lingered well beyond the ceremony and carried on into the days that followed, as conversations were filled with cherished recollections and shared experiences. The event was a wondrous affair, where all basked in the celebratory ambiance, forging enduring recollections that would be cherished for eternity.

The Couple’s Advice to those Planning to Tie the Knot

When asked what advice they can give to couples who are about to get married soon, the couple has this to say:

“Embrace the joy of wedding planning, for you'll miss it once it's over. Be budget-conscious without sacrificing quality; consider buying used or vintage items that still look great. Avoid panic buying to prevent unnecessary clutter. It's okay to have meltdowns; cry it out and then rise again. Don't hesitate to seek help from loved ones who are eager to assist. Conduct thorough research, including reading reviews and contracts.”
