ELLVIN AND ANGELIE
The love story of Ellvin and Angelie began on September 26, 2009, during the unforgettable typhoon that hit the Philippines. They were on an educational trip in Laguna when they met. As fate would have it, their buses stopped next to each other and they looked into each other's eyes. Angelie gave Ellvin a smile, and he took the opportunity to ask her for her number.
Love is on the road
Over the years, Ellvin and Angelie's relationship worked because they supported each other unconditionally, and at that moment, they knew they were meant to be together.
The proposal was carefully planned - Ellvin surprised Angelie during one of the events they participated in as videographers and photographers. At the end of the program, Ellvin was called on stage where he began to share their love story. Towards the end of his speech, he got down on his knees to ask Angelie to become his wife.
The bumpy ride
Preparations for their wedding were not easy, as it had to be postponed five times due to the pandemic and the death of Angelie's father. However, with their perseverance and the support of their loved ones, they were able to push through and have the wedding they had dreamed of.
It was not just a typical wedding – the circumstances were somewhat frustrating and beyond everyone’s control. But after all the struggles they went through, they overcame it together. When they look back at that day, they remember the struggle, but they also remember the joy. They remember how their friends came together to help them out at the last minute, and how their families were there to support them even when things got hard. And ultimately, they remember how much fun they had on their special day.
Love crosses all boundaries
The first thing they worked on was the church and venue. They chose the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception in Cubao, which has an impressive architectural design and a long central aisle, with room for 90 guests despite a 30% capacity limit. The reception was held at Sampaguita Gardens, which had an atmospheric garden and classic design in the rooms.
The theme of their wedding was a mix of modern rustic and elegant pink, black and gold, based on the logo of their photography studio. As wedding photographers and videographers, the couple had many friends in the industry, and they used that to their advantage as they prepared for their wedding.
True love is a journey.
On their wedding day, Ellvin and Angelie felt a mix of excitement, happiness and fulfillment. Although some guests and their host were unable to attend because of Covid, they had a memorable wedding day. They gave their all in the wedding preparations, proving that the secret to their long-lasting love is giving to each other without expecting anything in return.
Now that they are married, Ellvin and Angelie advise other couples to give the best of themselves and not worry about budget or what others think. They believe marriage is a "give and give" relationship, where you give to each other without waiting for anything in return. The wedding preparations were long and hard, but it was the perfect time for them to work together on their way to being partners forever.
