A BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION THAT’S WORTHY OF A PRINCESS
SAFIYAH GLASEY M. BUGAY

A kid who's about to turn seven is a big deal in Philippine culture. It marks the year when the child, who starts to understand the concept of right and wrong, graduates from preschool to primary school. Additionally, 7th birthdays are celebrated in a lavish manner, and Safiyah Glasey's party was definitely worthy of a grand blowout.
TURNING 7 | Safiyah Glasey M. Bugay, the eldest daughter of Lindsey and Gladie Bugay, recently turned 7. “I feel like I’ve grown more now. Well, I’m not a baby anymore," Safiyah shared. She used to tease Sofiel, her younger sister, all the time. Now she wants to set a good example as an older sister. "I now know that there’s a time to play, a time to have fun (like there’s no tomorrow), and a time to act responsibly. I also feel like a mother’s job can be hard, and that's something that I don't want my mommy to feel while raising us," she added.
MEMORABLE MOMENTS | "The whole party was visually appealing to me, and the first part of the show was simply captivating," Safiyah shared. The lovely 7-year old made her grand entrance and sang ‘You Raise Me Up” as she moved her way into the gazebo. The smiles and applause that she received from her loved ones genuinely warmed her heart. "The reason I chose this song was to thank our Dear Almighty God because he blessed me a life that every kid dreams of having. I have loving parents, a supportive family, kind friends, and a beautiful singing voice. Apart from that, the magic show and the ventriloquist were amazing. The kids, even the ‘tanders’ (adults), enjoyed the presentation, as it kept them entertained until the end of the party.
Safiyah’s mother planned the party according to her daughter’s requests. “I wished for a drop-dead, five-layer fondant cake with a masquerade theme. Luckily, Tita Poochie Tayag of Sweet Maven Cakes from Angeles City, Pampanga made it possible. As I blew the candle, I couldn’t help but stare at its finest. The sad part was that after blowing my candle, daddy left afterward to catch a flight going back to Vietnam. He’s based there as an airline pilot," she shared.
A BIRTHDAY WISH | The sweet girl didn’t wish for any material thing but instead asked to be blessed even more. “I’m blessed enough with everything that I want. There's just one thing I’ve been praying for, and that is to become a well-known singer and recording artist someday. Singing is my passion. They said that I got the golden voice from my Mame Ofel (mommy’s mother). I may not be 100% confident yet, but I will continue to hope that my talent improves as time goes by. I know that I’ll be able to do it because I have a very supportive mommy and a God who sees my worth,” Safiyah shared.
A GRATEFUL CELEBRANT | “To our Dear Almighty God, there are not enough words to thank you for giving me a loving family. To mommy and daddy, you both deserve the best. Know that we are filled with love and care, and know that you will always have Sofiel and me.
Daddy Dey, thank you for all of your sacrifices. Thank you for giving us a comfortable life. Despite your busy schedule as a pilot, you never fail to make time for us. You've never failed to watch us grow. Like passengers in a plane, where their safety is your priority, you've taken good care of us, too. You spoil us with everything. Seeing us cry also breaks your heart. Please remember that we’ll always be your princesses. We love you big time!
To my number 1 fan, Mommy Glady, I am grateful to have your support. You never forced us to do what we didn't want to do. I will always remember your advice when you said that I should follow my heart because you always had my back. Your unconditional love and affection mean so much to me, and I will always cherish every hug and kiss that comes from you. Thank you for making us your number 1 priority, our queen. We love you so much!”
A MOTHER’S TOUCH | Safiyah wouldn’t have her dream birthday party without the help of her mother, Gladie, who was a former event organizer. Gladie shared, “we owned the Wedding Castle by Safiyah Events Management & Coordinator. I named the business after her because she was my first-born. Even at the age of two years old, I would bring her with me to my meetings, prenup shoots, and events. Having already been exposed to different kinds of occasions, Glasey expected to see the same results in her own party. I was no longer surprised when she already had an idea in mind while we were planning her party.”
The mother of two handled all of the planning and also helped execute things for the party. Gladie shared, "I didn’t have enough time to prepare beforehand because we had vacationed in Hanoi, Vietnam after the semestral break. It was quite stressful because during her pre-birthday pictorial, aside from her studio pictorial, we also traveled to Sta. Elena Fun Farm, Tagaytay and Fantasy World in Batangas. Now, the road going to Fantasy World was closed, so we had no choice but to leave the car and ride a tricycle. Then again, if you have the passion igniting in you, and you’re doing it for the one you love, then you will achieve great things. With that in mind, I've managed to finish everything in just under a month."
A MESSAGE TO SUPPLIERS | Gladie would like to thank the suppliers who helped put together such a magical night for Safiyah. “I want to thank those who were just one text or call away. To all of my event suppliers, who are also my friends, I want to thank you all sincerely. You've all been a big part of that special event. Things wouldn’t be possible without your help. Despite everything that we needed to accomplish, we still got things done even on such a short period of time.”
